Chonta Condors View Point: Tour Express
Peru Nature Photography offers one of the most important and new alternatives that has Cusco to see the majestic flight of the condors; this trip has been designed for visitors wishing to see something different and attractive birding trip that integrates a series of emotions, experiences and nature in an environment still wilderness; everything is possible to experience in one day.
During the trip, you can appreciate the majestic mountain range of Vilcabamba, as the Humantay & Salkantay snow capes 6,271 m.a.s.l, until arriving at the community of Chonta and finally we will appreciate the majestic canyon of Apurimac. From where we will observe the majestic flight of the Andean condor.

We leave the city of Cusco at 4 a.m in our private van, taking the route Cusco - Limatambo, by an asphalted road until to the branch line that will lead us to the community of Chonta (3,400 m.a.s.l). On the way we will give you our upgrade box lunch for all the route and water in all moment.
From here we head across the high plains and Puna grasslands passing picturesque scenery dominated for the deep canyon of Apurimac, where we start our 2-hour slow walk until to get the Condor view point. We will be birding the whole way as we walk out to the Condors check point. Some birds we may see on the way are: Golden-billed Saltator, a variety of Sierra Finches, Hooded Siskin, Hummingbirds, Canasteros, Tanagers, Pigeons, Wrens, Tyrants, Cotingas, Swallows, Thrushes, Raptors and Mammals like White tail deer, Andean fox and much more.
Here we watch up to a dozen Andean Condors with a wingspan of 3 meters after leisurely watching, we enjoy a picnic box lunch with a magnificent view of Apurimac canyon. Finally, we’ll descend in to the Limatambo Valley to get back to Cusco city.
