The Colca canyon is a huge crack in the earth's crust, which for thousands of years the river was eroding to the valley and the canyon, home to one of the largest birds and represented in the Andean myth, the condor. In the bed of the wide platforms that for hundreds of years was the home of some pre-Inca ethnic groups "Collaguas, Cabanas" later occupied by the Incas, until the Spanish conquerors at the time of the colony. Colca is one of the valleys household of the largest number of terraces in Peru with different microclimates and a variety of products that from the past to the present lasted over time.

The locations part of the tour are perfect to practice photography and birding, well mixed by culture, beautiful landscaping, giving it all we could looking for.

Day 1: Arequipa – Chivay

We will pick you up 5:30 am on private transport. We will go along the Chachani volcano to reach the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca, place for the observation of Vicuñas "South American camelid" in its wild state, then we arrive to Patahuasi village 4,000 m.a.s.l, place where travelers can choose some infusions of the area while acclimatizing and spoting some lagoon birds, like the Giant coot, plovers, gulls, earth crippers, flamingos, among others.

Although the trip continues, we will enjoy the grazing of the llamas and alpacas until we reach the highest point of our route with 4,900 m.a.s.l, having a scenic viewpoint of the volcanoes and part of the western mountain range. From here we descend to Colca valley until Chivay village to 3,635 m.a.s.l, where you spend the night.

Day 2: Chivay – Cruz Del Condor View Point – Arequipa

We departure from the hotel 6:00 am to take the route of Cruz del Condor. On this tour, we will witness the large number of Pre-Inca terraces, as well as the traditional villages and the typical costumes of the region. Finally, the most expected for many travelers is to reach the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint, to observe the majestic flight of the condor. It was one of the sacred birds with a deep meaning for the Andean Cultures, the "Andean Condor" had a great significance for the ancient people, both in the mystical-spiritual and social spheres. After appreciating, the Colca Canyon considered one of the deepest in the world, we will return by making some stops on the route to listen to our guide the history that is hidden in this magical place, on average half day we will arrive to Chivay for lunch and then return to Arequipa city.
